Cecilia Otse

Cecilia Otse is an Associate in the Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Capital Markets Practice at Jackson, Etti & Edu, based in the Lagos office, practicing in Corporate Law. She is a Corporate Finance and Transactions lawyer with over five years' experience advising financial institutions, private equity sponsors, multinationals, and high-growth businesses on M&A, private equity, capital markets, banking and finance, restructurings, and regulatory compliance.

Her experience spans the full lifecycle of complex transactions, including legal due diligence, transaction structuring, drafting and negotiation of transaction documentation, regulatory approvals, and post-completion implementation. She regularly advises on regulatory matters involving the Central Bank of Nigeria, Securities and Exchange Commission, FCCPC, NAICOM, PenCom, and the Corporate Affairs Commission. Notable transactions include advising on the merger of Providus Bank Limited and Unity Bank Plc, the proposed disposal of Letshego's Nigerian microfinance banking business, the proposed acquisition of BetKing, and the acquisition of Anzo Group by Bally's Intralot S.A.

Cecilia holds an LLM in International Commercial Law with Information Technology Law & Commerce from the University of Reading, a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, and an LLB from Babcock University. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
