Gafar Okanlawon

Gafar Okanlawon is an Associate in the firm's Dispute Resolution Practice Group. He focuses on commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

His experience includes matters involving real estate and succession, taxation, trade and investment, Islamic finance, international commercial arbitration, fintech, intellectual property, oil and gas, renewable energy, telecommunications, media and technology, data protection, and labour and employment disputes.

He holds an LL.M (in view) from Lagos State University, a B.L from the Nigerian Law School (2024), an LL.B from Obafemi Awolowo University (2020), and a Diploma in Mass Communication from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (2014). He also completed a FinTech Risk Management course at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (2025).

He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. He was named Rookie of the Year at Streamsowers and Kohn in 2024, received an Award of Outstanding Performance for Civil Mock Trial at the Nigerian Law School in 2023, and was Justice of the Year at the Law Students' Society, Obafemi Awolowo University in 2019.
