Innocent Sylvester

Innocent Sylvester is an Associate in the firm with expertise in tax advisory and dispute resolution. He advises clients on tax audits, regulatory compliance, interactions with tax authorities, commercial disputes, arbitration, and maritime litigation.

Innocent routinely interfaces with the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) on audit investigations, tax assessments, and compliance matters. He provides strategic guidance on tax exposure, prepares formal objections to assessments, and ensures clients’ rights are defended effectively.

In dispute resolution, Innocent has contributed to high-stakes commercial and admiralty litigation, including representing multinational oil companies and other corporations in multi-million naira claims, providing case strategy, legal research, and drafting. He also prepares detailed legal opinions and advisory notes on regulatory compliance, litigation risk, and dispute resolution strategies.

He holds a B.L from the Nigerian Law School and an LL.B from Abia State University, and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
