Tope Solola

Tope Solola is a Partner and leads the Energy/Natural Resources Practice Group, and is also a member of the Litigation/Arbitration Practice Group. He has far‑ranging experience in admiralty, commercial litigation and arbitration, oil and gas law, projects and infrastructure, and tax. He applies in‑depth legal and commercial insight to complex regulatory and transactional issues in the oil and gas sector, particularly in exploration and production activities.

He has advised Moni Pulo Limited on drilling and oilfield service contracts relating to OML 114, Southfield Petroleum on construction of a gas processing plant in the western delta, Total E&P Nigeria Limited on diverse operations, a client on a management buyout of shareholders in a leading indigenous petroleum exploration and production company valued at $500 million, West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited on review and amendment of the International Project Agreement with four West African countries, and an indigenous petroleum exploration and production company on acquisition of a 40% participating interest in an oil mining lease from an international oil company. He has also supported drilling campaigns and advised Amni International Petroleum Development Company Limited on various transactions.

Tope holds an LL.M in Petroleum Law & Policy from the University of Dundee, a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, and an LL.B from the University of Lagos. He is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK, and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
