Winifred C. Udeogu-Osita

Winifred C. Udeogu-Osita is an Associate with expertise in taxation and private equity. She leads a team of solicitors providing legal advisory services to tax consulting firms, including determining payroll tax deposits, preparing and filing tax returns, and reviewing changes in tax legislation.

She has advised Nigeria's first gold and precious metals refining conglomerate on securing the listing and trading of dematerialized gold certificates on the Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange, advised Duchess Hospital Limited on agreements with Health Management Organizations, lease agreements, and loan facilities, and was part of the team advising on a dispute involving the appointment of a receiver over assets of an indigenous oil and gas company (including an oil refinery and data center worth over $250 million). She served as deputy team lead for the legal team managing a USD 10 million capital raise for an agro-industrial company's expansion projects, designed a process that reduced the time for perfecting title to land in Lagos State (adopted by the Lagos State Government), and was part of the team that successfully defended an international oil company's interest at the Federal High Court, setting aside a USD 170 million arbitral award.

Winifred holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Benin. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK, and the Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators. She has presented a paper titled "Medical Negligence and Corporate Liability" to Duchess Hospital Limited.
