Abraham Otene

Abraham Otene is an Associate in the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution practice. He focuses on representing clients in complex multi‑sectoral disputes and advising local and multinational corporations on dispute prevention and resolution strategies. His areas of interest include oil and gas, intellectual property, labour and industrial relations, banking, insurance, and real estate, where he represents clients at both trial and appellate levels. He is also developing competence in corporate and commercial transactions, routinely attached to the corporate/commercial department.

He has been part of teams advising MTN on its proposed shareholder offering, DLM Trust Company on the Primero BRT securitisation bond issue, representing Ecobank Nigeria Limited in employer‑employee disputes, the trio of South‑Trust Bank, US EXIM Bank and Private Export Funding Corporation at the Supreme Court, the Federal Inland Revenue Service in tax appeals, and the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission at the Court of Appeal. He also advised Kaddas Oil Field Services on dispute resolution models.

Abraham holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a First Class Honours qualifying certificate from the Nigerian Law School, where he received the Director‑General’s Prize and was the Best Graduating Student at the Kano Campus (2018/2019). He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators. He was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2019.
