Chukwuebuka Okeke

Chukwuebuka Okeke is a Senior Associate in the firm's Dispute Resolution practice. He is a highly accomplished legal practitioner with deep expertise in litigation and alternative dispute resolution, particularly within the banking and commercial sectors. He has served as lead counsel in over 70 matters across all levels of the Nigerian judiciary, earning accolades from peers and members of the Bench for his advocacy and legal acumen.

His track record includes successful appeals involving recovery of ₦350 million for a leading commercial bank, overturning a High Court decision in a foreign currency dispute to reinforce evidentiary standards for bank statements, defending a leading bank in a fundamental rights suit, obtaining dismissal of a defamation suit by establishing a rare form of qualified privilege, securing judicial clarification of EFCC orders in account freezing disputes, and successfully arguing a time-bar objection on behalf of the Nigerian electoral commission in a pre-election dispute.

Chukwuebuka holds a B.Sc in International Law and Diplomacy from Babcock University (Vice Chancellor's Gold Award), an LL.B from Coventry University (Ede & Ravenscroft Best International Student Prize), a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, and an LL.M from the University of Law, Birmingham. He has published extensively, including in the Journal of African Law. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Association of Young Arbitrators, and the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators.
