Doherty Taiwo

Doherty Taiwo is an Associate in the dispute resolution practice, with expertise in arbitration, mediation and general litigation. He routinely advises on labour matters, banking, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and real estate, as well as the negotiation and drafting of legal documentation.

He has acted as counsel in arbitrations between top oil and gas companies over a joint venture agreement, and between leading engineering and construction firms. He has advised a first‑class bank on assimilating its non‑core banking assets under its commercial banking licence, and advised a top‑rate oil and gas company on the acquisition/ownership structure of a vessel under the Local Content Act and Cabotage laws.

Doherty holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Ilorin and a Qualifying Certificate from the Nigerian Law School. He is admitted to practice in Nigeria.
