Dr. Kolawole Mayomi, FCIArb

Dr. Kolawole Mayomi, FCIArb is a Partner and co‑heads the Dispute Resolution department. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2003, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has acted as counsel in many high‑stakes commercial disputes resolved by litigation or arbitration, including complex matters arising from construction and infrastructure projects, trade finance, contractual warranty claims, and shareholders’ derivative rights.

He is listed on the panel of arbitrators of AFSA, the Lagos Court of Arbitration (LCA), and CIArb Nigeria, and has served as sole arbitrator or co‑arbitrator in numerous commercial arbitrations. He is also an accredited course tutor of CIArb (UK). A thought leader on the securitisation of commercial obligations, he advises corporate and financial entities on payment obligations under indemnity bonds, bank guarantees, performance bonds, and advance payment guarantees. He is listed as a leading practitioner in Who’s Who Legal (Arbitration/Banking) 2024.

Dr. Mayomi holds a Ph.D. (Commercial Law) from the University of Lagos, an LL.M (Commercial Law) from Obafemi Awolowo University, an LL.B from Obafemi Awolowo University, and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, CIArb (UK), and the Society for Construction Law, Nigeria.
