His experience includes: Advising and representing a large-scale petroleum marketing company in a multi-million-dollar arbitration initiated by one of Nigeria’s largest oil refineries regarding a claim of over USD18 million arising from the pricing and reconciliation of petroleum cargoes. Advising and representing a Bulgarian arms broker in three related international arbitrations against the Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Army, and Ministry of Defence, arising from non-payment for arms and ammunition supplied under multiple agreements, with claims exceeding USD 16 million. Representing a microfinance bank in court proceedings seeking to set aside an arbitral award of approximately ₦2 billion. Representing the defence in criminal prosecutions and appeals on a pro bono basis. Advised a power generation developing company in two high-profile arbitrations against the Federal Government of Nigeria at the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris, in respect of a USD 6 billion hydro-power project in North-East Nigeria. Successfully defended two banks (acquirer bank and target in an acquisition transaction) in lawsuits instituted by minority shareholders of the target, that sought to nullify the acquisition of the target by the acquirer bank; with over USD 300 million (deal value) at stake during the pendency of the lawsuits. Successfully represented and advised a multinational technology company in judicial review proceedings filed in Court against the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) in respect of the USD 32.8 million sanction and compliance orders imposed by the NDPC on the company for data privacy violations. Successfully represented a leading multilateral trade finance institution in Nigerian court proceedings for the registration and enforcement of two English judgments from the High Court of Justice, Business and Property Courts of England and Wales: (i) a 2022 judgment valued at about USD 20 million, and (ii) a 2024 judgment valued at about USD 8 million. Also part of the team handling an appeal arising from the registration of the 2022 judgment. Advised a leading Nigerian bank on its material litigation portfolio in connection with a ₦400 billion rights issue undertaken pursuant to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s 2024 recapitalisation directive. Advised a natural gas exploration and production company on a dispute arising from a natural gas supply contract with an electricity generation company, involving monetary claims exceeding USD 150 million. Advised a multinational technology company on an NDPC petition relating to personal data processing practices in Nigeria. Advised a global technology company on the processing of personal data in connection with internal investigations into alleged misconduct by employees and contingent workers in Nigeria. Conducted data protection audits for large-scale companies, including one of the largest indigenous oilfield services companies in Nigeria. Represented a scaling mobility technology company in respect of its USD 1.6 million Series A seed financing transaction.
