Moruf Sowunmi

Moruf Sowunmi is an Associate Partner and leads the Real Estate and Succession Department of the firm. He brings extensive experience in real estate law, succession planning, dispute resolution, corporate and commercial advisory, labour relations, energy and natural resources, and regulatory compliance. He is recognised for his commercial awareness, strategic thinking, and client‑focused approach to legal services delivery.

He regularly advises multinational corporations, financial institutions, real estate developers, and high‑net‑worth individuals on complex transactions, regulatory compliance, property acquisitions and development, and high‑value disputes. He has also acted as counsel in a wide range of commercial disputes before superior courts of record across Nigeria, representing various levels of government, multinational corporations, and high‑net‑worth individuals. His practice spans real estate development, succession planning, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance, delivering strategic legal solutions focused on risk management and value creation.

Moruf holds an LL.B. from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile‑Ife and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja Campus. He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, where he obtained certificates in Senior Management and Management Leadership Programmes, and is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Nigeria), and the NBA Section on Business Law.
