Adamu Usman

Adamu Usman advises on banking, finance and capital markets law, companies law, general corporate matters, employment law, immigration law, taxation, and corporate aspects of oil and gas. He leads both the Banking & Capital Markets and the Corporate law Groups. Described as “intelligent and thoughtful, and he really thinks about the political and practical issues of a transaction” (Chambers and Partners 2008).

Over 24 years of practice (admitted 1988), he has rendered comprehensive advice on Nigerian oil and gas legislation, tax legislation, and the operating and fiscal environment to multinationals and offshore corporations. He has vast experience in cross‑border transactions, financing projects, M&A, and contract documentation.

Adamu holds an LL.B. (Hons.) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1987) and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1988. He is a member of the Association of Nigerian Business Lawyers.
