Adebola Soyode

Adebola Soyode is an Associate in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice of the firm. She advises local and multinational clients across various industries on complex and cross-border transactions, including acquisitions, divestments, and corporate restructuring.

She advised one of the largest banks in Nigeria on its bid for the potential acquisition of Société Générale Cameroun, advised on the NGN 21 billion (circa US$33 million) acquisition by FMDQ of a 21% equity stake in Central Securities Clearing System Plc, advised First Pensions Limited on the acquisition of Access Pension Funds Administrator, provided legal advisory on the conversion of NNPC into Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, advised a leading African financial institution on its restructuring into a holding company, advised on merger control for Chappal Energies' acquisition of TotalEnergies' oil and gas interests, advised Moody's on its US$55 million acquisition of a majority stake in Global Credit Rating Company, advised on competition control for the acquisition of ekaterra BVI by Puccini Bidco, and obtained FCCPC approvals for multiple transactions.

Adebola holds an LL.B. from Olabisi Onabanjo University and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School. She has authored numerous articles published in BusinessDay, Global Legal Insights, Practical Law, and SSRN, including "Legal and Practical Considerations for an African Sustainability-Linked Loans Market" and co-authored the Nigeria chapter in Merger Control 2024. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the African Venture Capital Association, and the Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
