Alicia Adefarasin

Alicia Adefarasin is a Senior Associate at Dentons ACAS-Law in Lagos, practicing in the Corporate and Commercial group, specializing in Employment Law. She is a key member of the firm's Labour & Employment and Data Protection teams, providing legal advisory services to start-ups and local and international businesses across sectors including aviation, telecommunications, oil and gas, and fintech.

Alicia advises on commercial, corporate, transactional, and regulatory matters, including M&A, restructuring, employment, data protection, and regulatory compliance. Notable matters include advising Halliburton on employment-related matters and industrial court claims; advising on an “acqui‑hire” transaction for Moniepoint, including due diligence and employment agreements covering proprietary software transfer; advising Saipem Contracting Nigeria Limited on the sale of a fabrication yard, including transfer of assets, personnel, and permits; advising MICT Inc. (NASDAQ‑quoted) on its merger with Tingo Inc., including comprehensive legal due diligence on the Nigerian entity; and representing CMA CGM DELMAS SA before the Tax Appeal Tribunal and Federal High Court. She also advises on data protection compliance, antitrust regulation, and competition filings with the FCCPC.

Alicia holds an LL.B from the University of Buckingham (2013), an M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy from Schiller International University (2014), completed the Bar Professional Training Course at BPP Law School (2016), and obtained a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School (2021). She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2016 and the Nigerian Bar in 2021.

She is an officer of the Diversity and Equality Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) and a member of the Employment and Labour Lawyers Association of Nigeria (ELLAN). She is multilingual and has been recognised as a Mondaq Thought Leading Co‑Author for Data Protection, Nigeria.
