Cornelius Okey Gabriel

Cornelius Okey Gabriel is a senior lawyer at Olisa Agbakoba Legal and a key member of the firm's Dispute Resolution, Maritime, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practice groups. He specialises in commercial litigation, maritime law, arbitration, and complex dispute advisory, with a strong track record of successful representation at both trial and appellate courts for government agencies, corporate entities, and private individuals.

He has particular expertise in arbitration and maritime disputes, having served as a member of a three‑man arbitral tribunal in Courteville Business Solutions Plc v. Olisawaren Associates Ltd, delivering an award that was upheld upon judicial challenge up to the Court of Appeal. He has handled high‑value commercial and public law disputes, enforcement actions, and regulatory‑related matters, and serves as Coordinator of the Maritime Practice Group within the firm. He has authored numerous publications on key areas of Nigerian law.

Cornelius holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Lagos, an LL.M from the University of Lagos, and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, Yenagoa Campus.
