Matthew Chukwunalu Okpara is an Associate in the firm’s Governance and Secretarial Practice Group, as well as its Business Advisory and Foreign Investments Practice. He advises clients on matters relating to corporate governance, company secretarial services, business establishment, foreign investment, and regulatory compliance, supporting organizations across a variety of sectors.

Matthew is committed to delivering practical, client-focused legal solutions and assisting businesses in navigating corporate and regulatory requirements. His work involves supporting clients on governance matters, business advisory engagements, and legal issues arising from commercial operations and investment activities.

He has demonstrated a strong interest in financial regulation and corporate law through his academic writing. His publication, “Civil Action for the Revocation of Banking License in Nigeria and the Reliefs to be Sought/Granted: A Consideration of the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act (Repeal and Reenactment) 2020”, examines regulatory and banking law issues under Nigeria’s financial services framework.

Matthew holds a B.L from the Nigerian Law School and an LL.B from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and continues to develop expertise across corporate governance, regulatory advisory, and business law.
