Michael Amadi

Michael Amadi is a Partner in the firm’s Dispute Resolution Practice Unit and Head of Practice for the Port Harcourt Office. He advises clients on corporate law, regulatory compliance, governance advisory, litigation, and arbitration, providing strategic guidance on corporate governance and compliance across multiple sectors.

Michael has served as company secretary to over 30 companies, supporting boards in implementing best-in-class governance practices. He previously worked as Special Assistant to the CEO of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and participated in ministerial committees reviewing pioneer status administration in Nigeria.

His dispute resolution practice encompasses litigation and arbitration at all levels of Nigerian courts, including the Supreme Court, with a focus on high-stakes corporate and commercial disputes. He advises on drafting, reviewing, and analyzing settlement agreements to secure strategic and amicable resolutions. Michael also conducts legal due diligence for acquisitions and provides litigation monitoring services to ensure informed, proactive decision-making for clients.

He has advised clients such as Flutterwave Technology Solutions, Nigeria LNG Limited, Seplat Energy Plc, and Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and transactional matters.

Michael holds an LL.M (Distinction) from Durham University, a B.L from the Nigerian Law School, and an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and has authored publications on regulatory and energy policy, including “An Analysis of The National Domestic Gas Supply and Pricing Policy: Its Strength and Shortcoming”.
