Olamide Obajimi

Olamide Obajimi is a Partner and Head of the firm’s Tax Practice Group. A dual-qualified chartered accountant and lawyer, he advises clients on corporate tax structuring, general tax compliance, regulatory and financial reporting, tax planning and implementation, cross-border tax advisory, transfer pricing, and tax litigation. He also provides strategic support during audits, investigations, and tax reviews conducted by regulatory authorities.

Olamide has played a pivotal role in public sector initiatives, including the implementation of the Voluntary Assets and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS) and the review of the Joint Tax Board syllabus for capacity development of Nigerian tax officials. He represents clients in disputes before the Tax Appeal Tribunal and other superior courts, handling tax audits, negotiations, and settlements.

His professional experience includes advising multinational and local entities on optimizing Nigerian tax structures, supporting mergers and acquisitions with tax due diligence and restructuring advisory, and ensuring compliance with income tax, VAT, and employer tax returns. He also provides corporate governance, accounting, and regulatory audit support, including legal lobbying and advisory services to government entities.

Olamide holds an LL.M from University College London, a B.L from the Nigerian Law School, an LL.B (Hons) from Lagos State University, a B.Sc from Babcock University, and an Advanced Diploma in International Tax (ADIT, UK). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and UK (CIOT). He has been recognized in Chambers Global 2025 and International Tax Review 2025 World Tax Rankings as a leading tax professional.

Olamide is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and continues to provide thought leadership, publications, and strategic advisory in tax law, corporate finance, and regulatory compliance.
