Onyeka Ehiwuogwu

Sir Onyeka Ehiwuogwu (MCIArb) UK is a Partner and heads the Asaba branch office, specialising in tax law, dispute resolution, litigation, arbitration, and property law. He has successfully litigated tax disputes for a foremost financial institution in Nigeria cumulatively worth over ₦5 billion, alongside other significant tax rulings. He has demonstrated exceptional expertise in handling complex legal disputes, securing landmark judgments in areas ranging from contract and tax law to land and real estate cases valued in the billions of naira.

He is currently the Assistant Head of the Litigation Practice Group and is recognised among recommended lawyers by The Legal 500. His practice spans commercial litigation, tax disputes, arbitration, insolvency, and property disputes. He has authored several notable publications, including “Transnational Arbitral Awards - The Clamour for a Centralised Appellate Review Body.”

Sir Onyeka holds an LL.B from the University of Benin (2010), a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School (2012), and an LL.M from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Taxation. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (United Kingdom), the International Chamber of Arbitrators, an associate of the Nigerian Institute of Management, and the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN).
