Opeyemi Araromi

Opeyemi Araromi is a Senior Associate in the firm's Technology, Innovation and Fintech Practice Group, where she advises leading global payment networks, payment processors, cryptocurrency businesses, and technology-driven companies on complex cross-border regulatory and commercial matters.

Her practice focuses on fintech regulation, data protection, anti-money laundering compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, corporate restructuring, and product advisory. She regularly assists clients in navigating evolving regulatory frameworks and legal requirements affecting financial technology and digital services businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions.

Opeyemi has advised on several significant transactions within the technology and fintech sectors, including legal due diligence and regulatory reviews relating to Moniepoint's Series C investment of up to US$130 million. She also acted as Nigerian counsel in connection with Rapyd's acquisition of PayU's global payments business and has advised investors and emerging technology companies on capital raising and venture financing transactions.

Her experience further extends to advising venture capital funds, payment service providers, insurance technology businesses, and financial institutions on regulatory compliance, transaction structuring, and risk management. She is recognized for delivering practical legal solutions tailored to the fast-evolving fintech ecosystem.

Opeyemi holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) qualification, a B.L from the Nigerian Law School, and an LL.B from the University of Ibadan. She has been recognized by Chambers and Partners Data Category 2025 and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
