Sumbo Akintola

Sumbo Akintola is a Partner and heads the firm’s Telecommunications, Media, Entertainment and Technology (TMET) practice. She is recognised by Who’s Who Legal as a “highly‑regarded TMT lawyer with a first‑rate regulatory practice encompassing corporate restructuring, refinancing and divestment transactions”.

For over a decade, she has provided legal advisory support to MTN Nigeria Communications Limited, represented global financial institutions in multi‑million dollar funding to the telecommunications sector, and advised multinationals in the US and Asia on search engine and social networking technology, regulatory compliance, and data protection. She has moderated and spoken on panels covering African music, lawful interception issues, and legal issues in telecommunications.
