Uche Val Obi, SAN is the Founding Principal and Managing Partner of Alliance Law Firm with more than three decades of legal practice experience. A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, he is widely recognized for his expertise in complex commercial transactions, dispute resolution, and strategic legal advisory. His multidisciplinary background in both law and business management enables him to provide practical, risk-based solutions to sophisticated legal and commercial challenges.

Uche has built a distinguished practice covering Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Mergers and Acquisitions, Energy, Oil and Gas, Fintech, Corporate Commercial Law, International Trade, Real Estate and Infrastructure, Insolvency and Restructuring, Intellectual Property, Shipping, Maritime and Aviation. He regularly advises domestic and international clients on high-value transactions, regulatory matters, corporate governance issues, legal audits, due diligence exercises, and cross-border investments.

As an accomplished litigator, arbitrator, and mediator, he has appeared extensively before the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Court of Appeal, Federal High Court, National Industrial Court, various tribunals, and international dispute resolution forums. His arbitration and mediation experience includes proceedings conducted under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, American Arbitration Association (AAA), Lagos Court of Arbitration, Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, and other institutional and ad hoc frameworks.

Beyond legal practice, Uche has contributed significantly to legal scholarship, policy development, and regulatory reform. He has served on ministerial and regulatory committees, contributed to the IMF/World Bank Doing Business Guide publications, and participated in initiatives designed to strengthen cross-border capital market transactions between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He is also the author of Class Actions in Nigeria, regarded as one of the pioneering texts on the subject in Nigeria, and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, papers, and commentaries on diverse areas of law.

His professional achievements have earned him recognition as a Top Lawyer by Chambers and a Leading Lawyer by IFLR1000, alongside several national and international awards. Uche holds an LL.M from the University of Lagos, an MBA from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, a B.L from the Nigerian Law School, and an LL.B (Hons) from Imo State University. He also completed executive education at Harvard Executive Business School and is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.
