Adeoye Adefulu

Dr. Adeoye Adefulu is the Managing Partner of Odujinrin & Adefulu and Head of the firm’s Energy Practice, specialising in energy law, project development and financing, acquisitions, and restructuring across Nigeria's electricity, oil and gas sectors. He advises international oil companies, independent petroleum producers, power sector participants, financial institutions, project sponsors, and public sector institutions on major energy transactions, regulatory strategy, and sector reforms.

He has been closely involved in the development and evolution of Nigeria’s petroleum sector regulatory framework, participating in the reform process that culminated in the enactment of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021, and continues to advise clients on its implementation and regulatory implications across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. He is frequently engaged to conduct independent investigations, governance reviews, and regulatory inquiries for boards, institutions, and professional bodies.

Dr. Adefulu holds a Doctorate in Oil and Gas Law & Policy and a Master of Resources Law & Policy from the Centre for Energy, Mineral Law & Policy, University of Dundee, and an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Lagos. He is consistently ranked as a leading lawyer by Chambers and Partners (Global), IFLR1000, and The Legal 500. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association – Section on Business Law (NBA‑SBL) and Managing Editor of www.petroleumindustrybill.com, a leading information portal on the Petroleum Industry Act.
