Amina Abubakar Umar

Amina Abubakar Umar is an Associate with expertise in oil and gas, and mining. She advises clients on commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and disputes within the energy sector, and provides legal opinions on employment and intellectual property matters.

She has been a member of the team representing a leading German remote‑sensing and natural‑resource exploration company, and part of the team representing a major Nigerian LNG company in significant disputes arising from a Federal Government agency’s blockade of its vessels. She also contributed to drafting commercial agreements for a full‑service energy marketing company dealing with natural gas, crude oil, and natural gas liquids, and provided comprehensive legal opinions on open‑ended employment contracts and employee entitlements for cohabiting partners under Nigerian law. Additionally, she has served as part of the counsel team on intellectual property matters and on a major land dispute involving title, possession, and statutory compliance.

Amina holds an LL.B from the University of Coventry and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
