Felix Terungwa Ayem

Felix Terungwa Ayem is a Senior Associate with expertise in dispute resolution and taxation. He represents clients in international arbitration, commercial litigation, criminal defence, receivership actions, and corporate governance disputes across the energy, banking, hospitality, and mining sectors.

He has been an active team member representing a major Nigerian LNG company in sophisticated international arbitration, and a strong member of the team that carried out the receivership action against Milian Group and successfully negotiated the sale of the Intercontinental Hotel, a five‑star hotel in Lagos. He actively participated in the defence of one of the defendants in FRN v. Francis Atuche, arguing the unreasonableness of the sentencing, which led to a substantial reduction of the jail term by the Court of Appeal. He has advised and defended banks against frivolous claims of excess charges and penalties, recovering billions of naira from recalcitrant debtors. He has handled the defence of a multi‑billion dollar oil and gas company in a receivership action and other corporate governance disputes, advised on labour and employment matters, participated in complex transactions involving SPA, SHA, JVA and transfer of obligations for Irede Terminal Limited, and represented BUA Group in hostile commercial litigation concerning a mining licence in Edo State.

Felix holds an LL.B (Hons) from Benue State University, Makurdi and an LL.M from Lagos State University, Ojo (2022). He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
