Franca Ciambella

Franca Ciambella is a Senior Consultant at Dentons in Lagos, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. She assists in market expansion and advises on legal, regulatory, and compliance issues, with a focus on corporate and commercial law, foreign direct investment, fintech, and blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Franca conducts due diligence, negotiations, and drafts agreements for FDI, M&A, and cross‑border transactions often involving multiple jurisdictions. She also provides corporate and commercial support for entities pursuing organic growth strategies, and advises fintech and blockchain companies on formation, regulatory compliance, offerings, listings, and contracts. She is trained and experienced in both common law and civil law jurisdictions, with extensive cross‑border experience across Sub‑Saharan Africa, Asia, and Canada. As a trained mediator, she also assists in dispute resolution through negotiations and mediation.

She holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Ottawa, a Master of International Business Law from New York University School of Law, and a Master of Law from the National University of Singapore, where she received the Student Distinction Award. She also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.

Franca has been recognised with the Sovereign Medal from Canada's Governor General for volunteerism and leadership, and has served as Vice‑President of the Malaysia Canada Business Council and the Canada ASEAN Business Council, and as a board member of Cancham Singapore. She is a Director of the Nigerian‑Canadian Business Association and an Advisory Board Member of the Canada Council on Africa.
