Ogechi Onuoha

Ogechi Onuoha is a Senior Associate and Team Lead in the firm’s Finance and Capital Markets Practice Unit. She advises Nigerian and international clients on corporate finance, capital markets, debt and equity investments, derivatives, foreign exchange regulations, corporate restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, private equity, company secretarial services, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

Ogechi provides strategic legal advice on financing transactions, capital raising, bond issuances, project and investment structuring, and securities offerings. She has advised African Finance Corporation on a USD15 million financing, African Frontier Capital on receivables financing, commercial banks on a NGN42 billion airline acquisition financing, and the African Development Bank on a proposed USD450 million senior loan facility. She also advised the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Proparco on a EUR15 million secured facility for a diagnostic joint venture company.

Her experience extends to domestic bond issuances, including advising the Federal Government of Nigeria on a USD2 billion bond issuance programme and the Ministry of Finance on the NGN1 Trillion Real Estate Investment Fund programme. She also supported the launch of the NGXInvest platform by the Nigerian Exchange Group and advised on the NGN150 billion public offer for shares by FCMB Group and Dangote Industries Funding Plc’s NGN300 billion bond programme, setting local capital market records.

Ogechi holds an LL.M from the University of Ibadan, a B.L from the Nigerian Law School, and an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Uyo. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), reflecting her commitment to excellence in capital markets and corporate finance law.
