Okorie Kalu

Okorie Kalu is a Partner and heads the Insolvency and Training/Special Projects Practice Groups. He specialises in insolvency and business recovery, commercial law, oil and gas, and litigation, with a strong focus on corporate restructuring, debt recovery, and insolvency proceedings.

He has extensive experience advising on insolvency, business recovery, and restructuring matters, representing clients in complex commercial disputes and regulatory compliance issues across multiple sectors. He has provided strategic counsel on corporate restructuring, debt recovery, and dispute resolution, working with diverse clients in the oil and gas, finance, and corporate sectors.

Okorie holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws in Commercial Law from the Universite du Benin (now Universite de Lome), and attended the University of Lagos. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004. He is a Fellow of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN), where he serves as General Secretary and Second Deputy President of the MBA SBL Committee on Banking, Finance and Insolvency. He is also a member and Fellow of INSOL International. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and is fluent in both French and English.
