Omolola Coker

Omolola Coker is a Partner at Dentons in Lagos, practicing in the Energy and Project Finance group, specializing in Oil and Gas Law. She advises on banking and finance, energy projects, acquisitions and disposals of interests in oil and gas, power and mining, as well as investments in technology and fintech companies, corporate and debt restructuring, and transaction structuring.

Omolola has advised on numerous significant transactions, including representing a syndicate of lenders on a US$403.6 million facility to Pan Ocean Oil Corporation; advising the mandated lead arrangers on the US$1.79 billion syndicated acquisition financing for Oando Energy Resources' acquisition of ConocoPhillips' Nigerian assets; advising Africa Capital Alliance on its US$80 million investment in an indigenous oil and gas company; and advising Africa Oil Corp. on its acquisition of a 50% ownership interest in Petrobras Oil and Gas B.V. She has also advised the Lagos State Government on the creation of a Lagos Electricity Market, and advised private equity and venture capital firms on investment portfolios in Nigeria.

She holds an LL.B from the University of Westminster (1999) and an LL.M in International Business Law from King's College, University of London (2000). She was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2000.

Omolola is ranked as a Rising Star Partner by IFLR1000 (2022, 2023). She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Institute for Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, United Kingdom.
