Senator Ihenyen

Senator Ihenyen is the Lead Partner and founder of Infusion Lawyers, where he heads the Innovation & Emerging Technologies Practice and Startup Practice. He specialises in intellectual property, technology, and policy and regulations, providing strategic legal counsel to startups, SMEs, and global brands.

Senator advises on intellectual property strategy, data protection and privacy, blockchain regulation, and emerging technology compliance. He is the exclusive Nigeria contributor to the International Guide to Blockchain 2020, author of the Data Protection Overview for Nigeria on DataGuidance, and a contributor to the International Comparative Legal Guide to Data Protection 2019 (Nigeria chapter). He has published articles in journals and online platforms and spoken at conferences, webinars, and workshops on law, technology, and innovation.

He is the current Chairman of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA‑SBL) and chairs the IP Working Group of the NBA‑SBL Steering Committee to the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC). He is a former President of the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN) and former General Secretary of the Blockchain Industry Coordinating Committee of Nigeria (BICCoN). He holds an LL.B from the University of Benin and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School. He is a certified legal writer, brief writer, and cryptocurrency compliance specialist, and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
