Seye Opasanya SAN

Seye Opasanya SAN is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Partner at Olaniwun Ajayi LP with over 30 years of experience in Commercial Litigation, Arbitration, Capital Markets, Project Finance, Privatization, and Corporate Restructuring. He is widely recognized for his authority in arbitration and commercial dispute resolution.

Seye has acted as counsel in numerous high-value arbitrations under LCIA, ICC, and LMAA rules, covering sectors such as oil and gas, banking, construction, maritime, energy, and telecommunications. His arbitration work includes multi-million-dollar disputes involving power purchase agreements, engineering procurement contracts, shareholder disputes, and enforcement of arbitral awards.

He has advised on some of Nigeria’s largest transactions, including a ₦4.7 trillion bond issuance programme, multi-billion-dollar LNG projects totaling over US$13 billion, a US$600 million corporate restructuring, state bond programmes, Nigeria’s first supranational bond issuance, banking consolidations, and privatization of key national assets in aviation, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

Seye is noted for blending strategic arbitration expertise with deep commercial insight, making him a trusted advisor for banks, financial institutions, and energy sector companies. He holds an LL.M from the University of London, an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Lagos, and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School.
