Clinton Ekade Owei

Clinton Ekade Owei is an Associate with expertise in dispute resolution and oil and gas. He represents clients in high‑stakes commercial litigation, environmental claims, banking disputes, and contract matters across the energy, telecommunications, and chemical sectors.

He contributed to the successful defence of oil multinationals against environmental claims worth billions of naira, played a key role in defending banks in commercial disputes involving alleged breaches of banker‑customer relationships with claims exceeding hundreds of millions, and assisted in representing a telecommunications company in a dispute valued at over ₦300 million. He is currently part of the legal team representing a leading multinational gas company in a complex breach of contract dispute, advised Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited on host community liability following an alleged ammonia water discharge, and represents a multinational oil exploration company in disputes concerning Bayelsa State development permit demands. He also advised Notore Chemical Industries Plc on the implications of unlawful termination of employment contracts and is part of a team representing a US multinational in multiple high‑stakes breach of contract lawsuits.

Clinton holds a First Class LL.B (Hons) from Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State (LL.M in view at the same university). He passed the qualifying professional examination from the Nigerian Law School, Bagauda, Kano State and is admitted to practice law in Nigeria. He has consistently earned commendations from Hon. Justice E. Omukoro of the Bayelsa State High Court for his exceptional legal acumen. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
