Collins Akinade

Collins Akinade is a legal practitioner with deep expertise in dispute resolution, regulatory advisory, and commercial litigation. He acts for multinational corporations, government agencies, financial institutions, and state governments across civil and commercial litigation, arbitration, compliance, and insolvency matters.

He successfully defended a multinational company in civil forfeiture proceedings involving over $50 million in a disputed oil well transaction, represents a global consortium on the concession and renovation of a national monument, advised the Nigerian Electricity Regulation Commission (NERC) in disputes, was part of the team that recovered over $500 million in excess Paris club loan deductions for several state governments, and obtained judgment against Lagos State for over N300 million as compensation for property demolition.

Collins holds an LL.B. from the University of Ibadan and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School. He is an Associate of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN), a Designate Compliance Professional (DCP) of the Compliance Institute of Nigeria, an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
