Hopewell Nwachukwu

Hopewell Nwachukwu is a Senior Associate in the firm's Oil & Gas Practice and the Technology, Innovation, and Fintech Practice. She advises start-ups and established companies in the technology, fintech, and oil and gas sectors on project and corporate financing, acquisitions, product advisory, data protection, and ABC (anti-bribery and corruption) requirements.

In the oil and gas sector, she advised Seplat Energy on the $1.28 billion acquisition of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited and on the c. USD 300 million acquisition financing for that transaction. She also advised on the $11 million acquisition of Eterna Plc and on the financing and integrated development of OPLs 809 & 810 in the Kolmani river area of Northern Nigeria.

In the technology and fintech sector, she advised Development Partners International on the $100 million Series C funding round of Moniepoint Group, advised IFC as Nigerian counsel on its $110 million investment in TradeDepot Inc, advised Flutterwave on the launch of Tuition (a cross-border tuition payment platform), and advised a global cryptocurrency company on the proposed deployment of a cryptocurrency wallet in Nigeria.

Hopewell holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Lagos and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
