Ibi Ogunbiyi

Ibi Ogunbiyi is a Partner in the Power and Infrastructure team of the firm, widely regarded as Nigeria's flagship power practice. She advises on complex project financings, power and infrastructure project developments, power sector advisory, public-private partnerships, concessions, corporate financings, banking and financial regulation, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, insolvency, and corporate and commercial law.

She has been integral to many of the firm's notable transactions, providing general corporate commercial advisory to clients across various sectors. Clients rely on her deep understanding of structuring and implementing power and infrastructure projects, as well as her ability to deploy in-depth legal knowledge of the Nigerian market for innovative transaction structuring.

Ibi holds an LL.B from the University of Ibadan, where she was the best graduating student of her class and a multiple prize winner, a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, and an M.Sc. in Law and Finance from the University of Oxford. Her awards include the Dr. Liman Ciroma Prize for Highest CGPA, Faculty of Law Prize, Nupemeco Prize for Best All-Round Student, Justice Mohammed Bello Prize for Best Final Year Student, and Frank James & Company Limited Prize for Best Female Law Student.
