Oluwabusayo Ifonlaja

Oluwabusayo Ifonlaja is an Associate in the firm’s Oil and Gas Practice, where she advises local and international clients on corporate and project finance, project development transactions, and regulatory compliance within the energy sector.

Her experience includes supporting commercial banks, development finance institutions, and investors on financing arrangements in the oil and gas industry, engaging with regulatory authorities, and drafting and reviewing transaction documents. She also provides legal advisory services across multiple areas of law relevant to the sector.

Oluwabusayo graduated as the Overall Best Graduating Student (Valedictorian) from Nile University of Nigeria, Class of 2023 with a First Class LL.B and earned First Class Honours from the Nigerian Law School, graduating as the Overall Best Student in 2024. She has received numerous academic awards including the Council of Legal Education Star Prize, Most Promising Student of the Year, Best Student in Professional Ethics and Skills, and Best Student in Property Law Practice.

Her publications include works on institutional arbitration, international humanitarian law, gas flaring, ESG reporting, and public interest lawyering. She is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators, the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, and a member of the Institute of ADR Registrars.

Oluwabusayo is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Law Association, reflecting her commitment to arbitration, dispute resolution, and cross-border legal practice in the oil and gas sector.
