Patrick Akubude

Patrick Akubude is a Senior Associate at Dentons ACAS‑Law in Port Harcourt, practicing in the Dispute Resolution group within the Shipping and Litigation Department, specializing in Dispute Resolution. He is a commercial litigator with over 13 years of experience across commercial litigation, oil and gas, arbitration, company, labour, property and conveyancing, taxation, and tenancy law.

Patrick has successfully prosecuted and defended cases from trial to appellate courts across maritime, labour and employment, land and property, contract and commercial, and oil and gas matters. He conducts due diligence for clients in M&A transactions, advises on tax, revenue, statutory and regulatory compliance, and represents clients in dispute resolution proceedings. He has also been among the team of inspectors to several offshore oil drilling rig platforms and represented HFW UK in debrief sessions on sea piracy control risks.

He holds an LL.B from the University of Benin (2004) and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School (2007). He was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2007. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Igbo Lawyers' Forum PHC.
