Kolade Olawuni

Kolade Olawuni is a Partner with expertise in intellectual property, data privacy & protection, corporate advisory services, and dispute resolution. He advises government agencies, start‑ups, and technology companies on regulatory frameworks, compliance, and legal audits, with a strong focus on intellectual property and data protection.

He has advised government agencies on the development and implementation of regulatory frameworks for emerging technologies, conducted intellectual property and data audits for numerous clients, and represented the firm at bilateral trade organizations and professional associations. He has also advised the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board on the design of the Nigerian Content Fund, advised oil and gas clients on local content obligations, and was part of the team that advised the National Assembly on an earlier version of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).

Kolade holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Ibadan, completed the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos, is an Arbitrator and member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, and is an alumnus of the Harvard Law School Leadership in Law Firms Program. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (including its Section on Business Law Intellectual Property Committee), the International Bar Association, the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria, and the Institute of Energy Law.
